PRACTICA INFORMATION

– International flights: we invite you to search the Internet for the best fares.
– Domestic flights: we can book for you
– Visa: you’ll need one, obtained at the airport +/- 35 euros with no other document than your passport.
– Money: Euros, which you’ll need to exchange when you arrive at the airport for Ariary (Ar), the Malagasy currency. Your guide will be there to help you.
– Personal insurance: Insurance is strongly recommended. Insurance protects you in the event of an accident at your destination: it will cover part of your medical care and, if necessary, your repatriation (return trip to your country of origin). Check with your insurer
– Gratuities: at the end of your trip, if you’re satisfied with the service you’ve received, it’s appropriate – though not compulsory – to tip the person in charge. Although it may not be customary for you, it is of great importance to the people who will take care of you during your travels, inspires excellent service and is an inseparable feature of the tourism industry.
– The climate in Madagascar varies greatly from region to region. The Highlands have a mild climate, the West is hot and dry, the coast is rainy, the North is hot and humid, and the South semi-arid. The dry season runs from April to October, and the summer, the rainy season, from November to March. The best time to visit is between September and October, or from April to June.
– Madagascar is located at GMT + 3. This means that the island has a time difference of +1h from South Africa, +1h in summer and +2h in winter from Western Europe, +1h from Reunion and Mauritius, -4h from Thailand, and -5h from Singapore and Hong Kong.
